We glorify God when we become like Jesus.  God grows His people in Christ-likeness through the preaching and teaching of His Word.  The Bible teaches us that every aspect of the Christian life must be taught (discipleship) and that it is the mission of the church to equip all believers, thus enriching the spiritual life of the congregation.

The Disciple Makers course is a 12 week study that begins with covering the importance of making disciples along with why and how we are to make disciples. The course then moves to sharpen your own spiritual disciplines in listening to God, reading, studying, memorizing, meditating and applying God’s word in your life.  You will then be prepared to transfer those skills to others. The course finishes with discussing Jesus’ method of disciple making along with disciple making in the early church.

The objective of our class is therefore to help restore New Testament disciple making to its intended place of importance in Christian ministry. Each weekly session will strengthen your usefulness in the Kingdom as you acquire new ministry skills. Billie Hanks Jr. the creator of Disciple Makers material defines disciple making the following way “disciple-making refers to a healthy biblical relationship in which a more mature Christian spends quality time with a younger believer, showing him or her how to walk by faith, develop godly character, and gain proficiency in ministry skills.” The ministry objective of this course is to prepare successive generations of dedicated church members to invest their lives in fulfilling the Great Commission. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20)

The Ablaze ministry is designed so that everyone who attends an Ablaze service will be encouraged, motivated, and challenged to live a life with a heart that is on fire for the Lord Jesus Christ. The Ablaze services include the use videos, songs, personal testimonies, and devotions in a worship service designed to bring those in attendance into either a beginning or deeper love relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. The Ablaze services are held inside the fellowship hall at Providence Baptist Church and dates and time vary. The Ablaze ministry objective is to serve Providence Baptist Church by ministering not only to its members but also bringing in those within the community to share the love of Christ. “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32)
