Women’s Ministry

WMU – Women’s Missionary Union – WMU is a missions organization in Providence Baptist Church that seeks to involve women, girls, boys and preschoolers in missions.  Missions is an essential part of our church – it is where we can do our part to carry out the Great Commission – to spread the gospel throughout the world. We have a place for everyone.

WOM – Women on Missions – This is a time where you can join with other women for fellowship, spiritual growth, and hands-on mission’s involvement in a wonderful atmosphere of friendship and support.  Designed for women ages 18 and over. The Wilma DuBose group meets once a month at 10:00 am in someone’s home. We are planning to start a WOM group at night, in the near future. WOM Director is Betty Steele.

CIA’s  – Children in Action – is for girls and boys in grades 1-5.  They are actively involved in learning about missions, praying for, and giving to missions, and doing missions themselves.  Best of all, they have a lot of fun. CIA Director is Cynthia Hardee, with Katherine Healan as her helper.
Meets:  Every Wednesday night 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Mission Friends – is for ages birth through 5 years.  It is the first step in missions education.  Preschoolers learn about God’s helpers, missionaries, and how they can be a missionary at home.  They also learn that, even though people are alike in some ways and different in other ways, Jesus loves us all. Mission Friends Director is Diane Geddings, with Heather Adkins and Shannon Sandifer as helpers.
Meets:  Every Wednesday night 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

We have a heart for missions and want you to have an active part.  Don’t see a place for you to fit in?  Then let’s start something new!!!  Have a mission action idea or know of a missions need here in our community – then let us know.  We want to share God’s love throughout our community, our state, our nation, and our world.

Matthew 28:19-20 says, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
